Memorial Park is the single best vantage point in Red Wing that requires little to no effort. The only better view you’ll find in 50 miles is the adjacent Barn Bluff, and you practically need Ultra marathon training to tackle that beast. At Memorial, you can drive right to the top and snap beautiful landscape photos without ever getting out of the car. It’s also the only view in town that actually features Barn Bluff, and with a proper wide-angle lens, you can actually photograph Barn in its entirety. No trip to Red Wing is complete without the short drive to the top of Memorial, and even Red Wing residents tend to find themselves up their once or twice a year. The park also boasts a better-than-average Frisbee Golf course. The only drawback is that due to the vertical nature of the drive, Memorial is closed through the winter.
